The Haciendas, together with Fundacion Haciendas del Mundo Maya, a regional NGO part of the group, support initiatives from the local Maya communities that promote identity, recognition and recovery of the expressions of the Maya heritage to overcome poverty. This is done by providing opportunities an programs, in education, health, housing and self sustainable development with the participation of the population as promoters of their own social welfare projects.
